Roads are clear for the latest laptop launch dubbed OLPC XO 2.0. Unlike the OLPC XO, the price of the next-generation XO laptop would cost around $75 only. It is said to be a highly slimmed-down version of OLPC’s original XO device. It has been developed from a different point of view but the purpose remains the same.
The non-profit organization has introduced the prototype of the latest model that targets at students who can carry it easily while traveling miles away for schooling. The all new and revamped notebook PC boasts to provide a totally new concept of learning devices. LG has announced its two new ‘desktop replacement’ notebooks – dubbed X-R700 and X-S900. Priced at 1,390,000 won, the LG X-S900 KP55K semi-portable laptop features a 19-inch widescreen with 1,366 x 768 pixel of resolution, processor with 56MB of ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 graphics, 2GB of memory and 250GB to 320GB disk running at 7,200rpm. MacBook Air has been hacked and that too in just two minutes. Can you believe it? In a Pwn to Own contest sponsored by TippingPoint, a team of security researchers won the prize of $10,000 for hacking a MacBook Air in such a short time.
ISE security researchers, Charlie Miller, Jake Honoroff and Mark Daniel hacked the slimmest notebook on Thursday, which was the second day of the competition.
On the first day participants only attacked on networks of the operating system, in which nobody succeeded. On the second day participants attacked on default client-side applications such as Web browser, e-mail, IM.
