Nokia recently demonstrated their new Maps application which (although they don’t admit it) it is to compete against Google Maps. The service will run on Ovi, which is their social media site. The map software is designed to run on the PC, but approaches the problem of decent mapping from a different angle.

Unlike Google maps which use servers to calculate the maps and what you see, the Nokia version will use computing power on your own PC to create the graphics needed to make it run. Rumours are floating around about Windows Mobile 6.1 becoming available in just a few days on April 1st. Hopefully it isn’t an early April fools joke. Good news for PSP gamers in the US! Sony has announced new firmware update version 3.93 for PlayStation Portable. Though a lot of information of the firmware is not yet revealed, what’s known is that the new update will support PlayStation Network titles.
Sony has also announced that the portable gaming device will support 20 additional internet radio stations. This enhancement will enable PSP users to find their favorite genres of songs easily and listen to them thereafter. The versatile Android mobile phone platform is set to get a funky application in the form of web server software. i-Jetty technology allows mobile phone users to create AJAX and comet-enabled websites on an Android mobile phone.
