Here’s an array of women-centric phones from Samsung. Called Miniskirt Season 2, the new SCH-C225/ SPH-C2005/ SPH-C2255 have been unveiled under the Anycall brand.Samsung claims that the development of handsets has been inspired by the ‘Minimalist’ approach. Hot off the heels of yesterday’s press event, PosiMotion is laying claim to the first wireless GPS accessory for the iPhone and iPod touch. I’m sure the built in locator and google maps program will be just fine for most, but the GPS add-on will actually be compatible with any device with a Wi-Fi connection, but will ship with software to allow for proper iPhone/iPod touch integration. The G-FI is said to be in the final stages of production, and it shall be released in the “next few months,” whatever that means. I Read more… »
This new Getac PS535E won’t be swiping any work from Jonathan Ive in the near future, it won’t make him cry either, which is certainly a step in the right direction. The internals are decent as well, with GPS, 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth, a 400MHz Samsung processor, 64MB of SDRAM and 2GB of flash storage. There’s a transflective 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen fronting the device, and Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium is holding it all together. No word on price or availability.

Toshiba already got official with its G710 and G910 handsets last month, but it’s just now filled in that rather glaring numerical gap, with it taking the wraps off its new Portege G810 smartphone at MWC (not to be confused with Samsung’s also-just-announced G810). Like those other two, this one’s a Windows Mobile 6 device, and it boasts support for HSDPA and HSUPA, along with built-in GPS and A-GPS, and the always-welcome integrated WiFi and Bluetooth. Otherwise, you can expect a 2.8-inch QVGA touch screen, a 3 megapixel camera, a microSD card slot for expansion and even an FM radio in case all the usual PMP features aren’t enough for you. No word on a price, but you can look for this one to hit Europe sometime in the second quarter of this year.
