We have mentioned Asus a few times over the last month or so. The first mention was a 3.75G mobile broadband connection built in to their new range of laptops. The next was a hard drive upgrade. What we are looking at now is a touch screen version that is said to be coming out next year sometime.

Motorola’s Q11 was nearing a release in Brazil and, according to ZumoBlog, everything is now set to finally get official tomorrow. That, however, hasn’t stopped the site from getting its hands on the phone today, and it’s thankfully snapped a few pics of it to give folks a peek at what’s in store. Of course, the pics of the Q9 lookalike don’t exactly tell the whole story, as the big news is added WiFi and GPS, and, unfortunately, a lack of 3G. Still, if that’s a trade-off you can get behind, you can keep watch on the site for a promised video hands-on, and set aside the 899 Brazilian reais (or just over $400) it’ll cost you to get an unlocked version of the phone.

According to a leaked email from a PC OEM, Microsoft has officially extended the life of its now-beloved Windows XP, moving the date of planned obsolescence from January 31, 2009 all the way to July 31, 2009. In the wake of its very expensive ad campaign promoting (in a roundabout way) Vista, the move is a bit surprising. Essentially, Microsoft is trying to let users skip Vista completely, moving directly from XP to its forthcoming OS, Windows 7. Hyperion Power’s plans to develop and sell portable nuclear reactors first came to light last year—but most people probably brushed off the idea as some sort of fantasy. Whether that is true or not, Hyperion seems to be committed to the project. A recent interview with Hyperion CEO John Deal revealed that they have every intention of shipping their first product in June of 2013.
