Maybe I’m not a slope-wise skier, but when I’m hurtling down a mountain I love to hear wind sounds—not music from my iPod. Other people are different, and this waterproof MP3 player from Lancer certainly fits the “rugged enough for big snowboard crashes” bill. The Laqa3’s design is a plain metal tube. And… well, that’s it. There’s a headphone connector, and presumably controls somewhere, but other than that it’s a plain metal tube. You may dig its industrial-look, or not, but it weighs just 25g, has IPX7 waterproofing so it’s good for swimming, and comes with IPX7 silicon ear Read more… »

We’re not sure if Brando’s version of the external iPhone battery pack bests the others we’ve seen in performance, but it’s definitely the cheapest by far. At $25, it’s a whole $18 cheaper than the iPhoneck, and twice as costly as Macally’s PowerLink. Is it any good? No clue yet. But it’s cheap, which is all some people care about.

For DIYers with a lot more technical know-how than cash, an Instructables user has put up a really interesting tutorial on building an electric motorcycle using just $3000. With gas prices being what they are, you should probably try to make it so Read more… »

GPS Tracking

As defined by Wikipedia GPS is : “The Global Positioning System (GPS) is the only fully functional Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS). Utilizing a constellation of at least 24 medium Earth orbit satellites that transmit precise microwave signals, the system enables a GPS receiver to determine its location, speed/direction, and time.”
Have you used GPS in your car? I have not. However, I have seen my girl friend used it in her car while I was visiting him in Park Avenue, NY many years back.

This concept glider, dubbed Orlens, is attention-grabbing through its rather beautiful shape alone. But when you look into how it would work, you can see that designer Roland Cernat has put a lot of thought into its greenness. It would be made of entirely recycled materials, and be recyclable itself, would have photovoltaic cells atop the wings for energy for eco-friendly propulsion and have an aerodynamically-efficient body. The body too would be made from a flax-based bio-compound that Read more… »
