Motorola CPEi 150 WIMAX Desktop Unveiled

Motorola has unveiled a new member dubbed CPEi i50 in its award-winning WIMAX consumer product portfolio. This plug-and-play desktop is 802.16e-compliant Wave-2 ready and has the ability to connect automatically to the WIMAX network.One data port, supporting remote management and operating in the 2.5GHz band are also included. With an intuitive graphical interface, consumers can troubleshoot and personalize their services. The device can also work for both fixed and mobile use.
“Service providers are turning to fixed, portable and mobile WiMAX to extend coverage and add more wireless voice, video and data services to satisfy subscriber demand. We continue to roll out products that enable data-rich and bandwidth-intensive applications for fixed, portable and mobile WiMAX users and deliver on the promise of media mobility,” stated Motorola senior vice president Fred Wright, who oversees Motorola’s WiMAX, LTE and other wireless technologies.
The company claims that the CPE portfolio products will achieve WiMAX Forum certification that assists delivering interoperability amongst the global WiMAX ecosystem.
The Motorola CPEi 150 WIMAX-enabled desktop will release for service providers in th second quarter of this year.
