Nintendo now offers music play for the Wii owners. MP3tunes has announced its custom technology for Wii, allowing the user to play all digital music from their gaming console. You can wirelessly stream personal music collection from Music Lockers with the help of the Wii’s controller, for free of cost. This has been developed by Rodney Powers for MP3tunes.

Looks like there may have been a possible leak of the next version of Apple’s iPhone firmware, 1.1.3. According to Gear Live, it can now handle SMS to multiple recipients, the springboard (home screen) supports reordered icons and pagination (as well as web bookmarks), and Google maps gets hybrid view and that nifty cell-based location system. If this is all Steve plans to announce iPhone-wise at Macworld next month, we think there will be more than a few disappointed iPhone users out there. Then again, home screen pagination would kind of imply an SDK to make use of all those slots, so maybe the real news is under the hood.

The TC2 is a new charging device which uses 2 AA batteries to provide emergency charging for your mobile phone. Adapters for various mobile phones are optional when purchasing the device with about 9 or so available to choose from. Tests done over at Geek show that the TC2 connected to a completely dead phone for 5 minutes can give it enough juice to be switched on and make a brief call. On the TC2 unit are 3 LEDs which act as a power gauge. Also two high powered LEDs are found on the TC2 allowing it to be used as a light in emergency’s. Over on the product page (linked below) it indicates that 2 AA batteries can charge a phone up to 3 times which is quite impressive considering you can get a couple of 2000mAh rechargeable batteries for a reasonable price.

Panasonic has announced their development of the world’s thinnest internal Blu-ray drive. At just 9.5 mm tall, it’s thin enough for laptops but still packs a performance punch. We’re talking 2X recording for both BD-R and BD-RE (rewritable) discs, along with BD-R DL support (but we’re guessing that the dual layer writing is just 1X…have fun burning those 50GB discs). The drive also supports DVDs with 8x burning on all types of discs. It’s priceless for now with Panasonic only shipping units to manufacturers at the moment, but we’ll get more details soon when it’s on display at CES.
